World Strongman Championships Come To Kokkola

The strongest athletes in the world will compete over two days in Kokkola in feats of strength and endurance.

The World Strongman Championships are taking place in Kokkola this weekend.

More than 50 power lifters from 19 different countries are taking part in the under-90kg and under-105kg weight categories.

On the first day of competition, every athlete gets the chance to compete.

But on the second day, only the top 12 progress to the finals.

Among the feats of strength and endurance, competitors will be strapped into a harness, and have to drag a truck along a 20 metre course in the fastest time.

Finnish athlete Paavo Paaso competes in the under-105kg class. Learn more about his preparation for the event in our new video.
