A new social interaction experiment brings together people with green thumbs for ‘plant dating’.
At the most recent event in Helsinki, up to 700 people took part in buying or swapping plants, meeting and chatting with like minded amateur horticulturalists.
Organiser Kitta Ahlroos says she had been watching online forums on Facebook for a while, and saw people arranging to swap seedlings to expand or mixed up their house plants. So she thought the next logical step would be to bring it into the real world.
It’s been such a success that Ahlroos plans to grow the idea further, and arrange some future plant dating events as well.
