Finnish Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas has taken the chequered flag at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, the fifth win of his career.
Bottas took control of the race from the start, and managed to hold off Mercedes team mate Lewis Hamilton.
“It was actually a tough race even though not that much was happening at the front” Bottas told journalists after the race.
“Lewis [Hamilton] was putting on pressure, but everything was under control. I’m happy to take the chequered flag and first place” said the Finn.
The next Formula 1 one race is the Spanish Grand Prix, and Mercedes will be looking to replicate their stellar success so far this season, where they’ve placed first and second for four consecutive races.
Bottas’ previous success this season came with a win at the Australian Grand Prix in March.
The other Finnish driver in the Baku race, Kimi Räikkönen, picked up 1 point for his 10th place spot.
