Finnish Formula 1 racer Valtteri Bottas has claimed second place in the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona.

He was beaten to the chequered flag by team-mate Lewis Hamilton, completing a remarkable fifth time in a row that Mercedes have finished 1st and 2nd in this year’s GP season.

“As a team it’s incredible, the fifth one-two in a run is really good. I got some points and that’s important, every point will count, but I have to find out what happened at the start” Bottas told reporters after the race.

Although Bottas started the race in pole position ahead of Hamilton, the British driver overtook him on the first lap to keep the lead for the remaining laps.

The other Finnish driver in the race, Kimi Räikkönen, finished 14th driving for Alfa Romeo almost 40 seconds behind Bottas.

The next F1 race takes place in two weeks time in Monaco.
