Finnish drivers start today’s Singapore Formula One race in the top ten on the grid.
Valtteri Bottas is fourth, while Kimi Räikkönen – who is without a Grand Prix win so far this year – is in sixth place. The Singapore Grand Prix is a night race, which starts at 15:00 Finland time.
Valtteri Bottas is the top ranked Finn today, and he’s currently third in the F1 Drivers Championship, but aiming to rise higher.
“In Formula One, everything is possible when there are still seven more races left” says Valtteri Bottas, who has won two Grand Prix races so far this year.
“I set my goals high, and third place is not good enough” he adds.
The 28-year-old Finn, who lives in Monaco, recently signed a new contract to race for the Mercedes team in 2018. He joined the team at the start of this year on a temporary basis, replacing Nico Rosberg who retired from driving.
The Singapore organisers are also celebrating this weekend, with a new deal to stage the F1 races there for the next four years.
