Finland international Teemu Pukki has been awarded a top honour by the English Football League, and named Championship Player of the Season.
Pukki only moved to his current club Norwich City FC from a Danish side at the end of last season, and has already scored 26 goals for the team as they seek promotion to the top tier of English football.
“Of course it feels good, it’s been a great season so I’ve done something right […] I believed in myself that I can do well in this league, but obviously it’s been a great great season” Pukki told reporters after winning the award.
The 29-year old started his youth football in Kotka, before moving to play in Spain, Helsinki, Germany and Scotland.
He thanked the team’s staff, and his team mates for their part in making him look good on the pitch.
“They are the ones who make it easy for me, I just have to be in the right place at the right time” he said modestly.
The award was voted on by football experts, other players and team managers.
