Finland’s S Group well in January-June this year compared with the corresponding period last year. The operating profit was €128 million at the beginning of the year, up from €87 million a year go.
The S Group, which includes regional cooperatives and the SOK Corporation, had a tax-free retail of approximately €5.5 billion at the beginning of the year when the group had a sales of approximately €5.3 billion a year ago.
The group states that the popularity of digital services has increased. For example, sales of food via online stores increased by 50% compared with last year.
“The improved result allows us to continue lowering prices in future. We will also improve the selection of products and services” says SOK CEO Taavi Heikkilä in a press release.
