Chinese firm brings tech jobs to Tampere

AAC Technologies could employ up to 100 people in the next three years.

A Chinese tech company is set to create up to 100 new jobs in Tampere.

AAC Technologies makes micro components for consumer electronic products, and plans to open a product development unit at Hervanta in the city.

Initially, the Chinese firm plans to initially employ 20 people there, but increase to as much as 100 people over the next three years.

“We are very happy about AAC’s investment decision” says Tampere Mayor¬†Lauri Lyly (SDP) in a statement.

“The Tampere-based university community will create an inspiring and globally attractive research and learning environment and a unique center for multidisciplinary research in economics, technology, health and society” he adds.

About the company

AAC Technologies researches and develops technologies for smart phones and portable electronic devices.

The company was founded in 1993 and has its headquarters in the Chinese city of Shenzhen and has more than 52,000 employees worldwide.

They have nine production sites, and a further 15 research and development centres in China, USA, Denmark, South Korea, Japan and Singapore, as well as the facility in Finland.
