Thousands of students from across Finland are expected to go on strike from school today, and join rallies in support of more action against climate change.
The movement is inspired by 16-year old Swedish student Greta Thunberg who has been an outspoken and passionate advocate for politicians to take firmer, swifter action to fight the effects of climate change.
Events are planned in 112 countries today, as well as here in Finland.
In Finland, students in major cities will leave their classrooms and march at city halls; the main protest will be in Helsinki where pupils are already gathering at Senate Square before marching to Parliament where their rally will continue, to try and attract the attention of politicians inside.
