Police in Vantaa are looking for a group of four or five young girls after a 10-year old girl was attacked and beaten.

The suspected assault happened on Sunday afternoon around 17:00 when police say the young girl was beaten by up to five other girls near Tikkurila railway station.

The victim got an adult who saw the incident to call the police, and when an ambulance arrived the girl was checked by paramedics, but no hospital treatment was required.

The investigation is still in a preliminary stage, and police say they don’t know who the suspects are, but they’re examining nearby surveillance cameras to see if any of them caught images of the suspected assault.

“At this point, nothing can be said about the motives for the attack. However, we ask that if you know something, tell the information to East Uusimaa police” says Timo Luoto, the senior investigator on the case.
