Police in Seinäjoki say they’ve made almost fifty drug busts during a two-day music festival in the northern city.

The Seinäjoki Hip Hop Festival ran for two nights on Friday and Saturday, and featured international artists like supergroup La Coka Nostra, and Chris Webby; as well as Finnish artists like OG Ulla-Maija and Heikki Kuula.

Officers carried out “enhanced drug surveillance” during the festival, which attracted 4000 visitors this year. Most of the offenders were drug users, and police seized cannabis, amphetamine, MDMA, ecstasy and LSD.

As well as drugs offenses at the festival itself, police say they caught drivers near the event who were either drug driving or drunk driving. Five other drugs offenses in the city while the hip hop festival was going on took the total number of drug-related crime reports in Seinäjoki to around 50 cases.

Police say two of the people they detained on drugs offenses this weekend were under 18.
