Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria will visit Finland next week, to watch a performance at the National Opera House in Helsinki on Saturday 16th September.
She’s been invited to see Autumn Sonata, a new work which pairs a story by Swedish cinema legend Ingmar Bergman, and the music of Finnish composer Sebastian Fagerlund, who the National Opera House describes as “one of the most highly acclaimed Finnish composers of his generation”.
Victoria’s visit is part of Finland’s 100th birthday celebrations of independence. She has visited Finland before, in 2010 for the first time with her husband Prince Daniel. Victoria made her first official trip to Finland in 1996.
Recently, the Crown Princess celebrated her own milestone birthday, with a two-day 40th birthday party in Stockholm and the island of Öland organised by her husband.
