Sauli Niinistö arrived at his campaign rally in Helsinki this evening, knowing he had most likely secured an history first round re-election victory.
The incumbent president was greeted by hundreds of supporters who chanted his name, and crowded round to take photographs and shake his hand.
A few minutes later, the audience realised he had won re-election with the first round of voting, comfortably beating his nearest rivals.
This video captures the moment he walked into the rally.
