Finland’s Prime Minister Juha Sipilä (Centre) is on sick leave for two days.
The announcement came on Wednesday morning from his office, to say that he would be off work on 12th and 13th September.
Sipilä’s office has not disclosed the nature of his illness.
During the Prime Minister’s absence, his work will be covered by Finance Minister Petteri Orpo (NCP) the leader of the second largest coalition party; and by member of parliament Hannakaisa Heikkinen (Centre) at various events today.
The Prime Minister has a busy schedule ahead both domestically and internationally.
Next week he’s taking part in an EU meetings in Austria where Britain’s exit from the European Union will be top of the agenda.
